Bounce rate is a measure of reader’s interest in your blog. Higher bounce rate mean reader’s lower interest and vice versa. Before going further it is better to have a clear idea of bounce rate.
What is Bounce Rate ?
Bounce Rate is the percentage of people landing on your page and leaving by visiting only that page to the total number of visitors. e.g your website or blog has 10000 visitors in a month and out of it 7000 visitors left your blog without viewing any further page then the bounce rate would be 7000/10000*100=70%. In other words bounce rate tells how many people visited just one page and then left. There can be many reason of visitor leaving the page ;
- visitor hits the back button on the browser
- visitor get the information he needed
- visitor clicked on any ad on your page
- visitor do not find the page interesting
- visitor forced to exit due to poor navigation
- page taking too much time to load
What is Ideal Range for Bounce Rate
Most of people search for what is the ideal range for the bounce rate for the blogs ? It depends what you want from your blog. If you have ads on your blogs and the ads units are doing well ( Higher CTR ) then you might not want to sacrifice your earnings just for the sake of the lowering the bounce rate. But in most cases the ideal ranges are
Low Bounce Rate : Less than 40 %
Higher Bounce Rate : Above 70 %
Normal : Between 40% to 70%
