Creating Backups for the blog is a vital task. Some bloggers do not perform this task or do not give much importance to the back ups. It is matter of saving the blogging efforts of months or years. If something goes wrong then still your blog can be live again but if you have the backup.
The blog hosted on Google Blogger Blogspot needs backup much more than anyone else. The main reason is the free hosting provided by the Google Blogger and according to their policies they can make your blog offline if you go against their set policies. The other reason of backup is Blogger template. If you are blogging on Blogger Blogspot then you certainly know that you have to make lot of tweaks and changes to the template during the course of blogging and with single error your blog template can be a scrap.
So there are two main backups of the Blogger blogs
1. Backing up the Blogger Blog Posts
This backup will create a backup for your all blog posts and comments. If due to any reason your blog goes offline you can still recover the posts and comments.
1. Go to blogger Dashboard.
2. Go to Setting > Basics. Click on Export Blog Button . it will give you the option of downloading the blog. click on Download button and it will save the backup copy (xml) for your blog on the hard disk of the computer. It is better to save the copy of the backup in your email with date at which backup is taken.
2. Backing up the Blogger Template
It is wise to take the regular backups of Blogger Blogspot template. To take the backup of template follow the simple steps given below ;
1. Go to Blogger Dashboard > Design > Edit Html .
2. You can find the link at top “ Download Full Template “.
3. By clicking on the link you make the backup of blogger Template on your Hard Disk of computer.
