Getting More Information From Google Site Command

Google Site Command  enable us to search within a particular site. If you want to only search through your site or blog type Site:www.yourblog.com in search filed. This command can give you few important details and information of your website/blog.

1. Pages in Index

By using this command you can exactly determine the number of pages of your blog or website which are in Google index. Sometimes Google Webmaster Tools does not give you exact number of URLs in web index. By utilizing the site command you can exactly ascertain this information.

2. Duplicate Content

You can have the duplicate content issue if the archives pages of the blog are in web index or if you have assigned more than one category to many of your post etc. Site command gives you an idea of the duplicate contents ,if any, generated by your blog.

3. What’s Latest in Google Index

Although now Google take lesser time to index new stuff being published on the web but it is better to keep an eye whether your new posts have been indexed by Google or not. If you post frequently then Google take very lesser time to index your new posts. To check what’s latest from your blog is indexed by Google use the Site command for the blog and click on Latest option available under More search tools in the left pane. site command

4. Images of Blog

This command gives you an idea of images used in the each post of blog. After using the Site Command click on “ updates with images” in the left pane and you will get the detail of images used in the each post of your blog. This way you can easily search the images used in previous blog posts.
