Experimenting is on going process of blogging. Bloggers need to experiment a lot on the blog to finalize the look, to add any new plugin and to try anything new. But is it good to do experiment on original blog ? I must say. No . Sometime playing with theme or template code can seriously harm your blog or if you add any buggy widget or plugin etc then it can make your site down.

Then where to try the new the things or where to perform the experiments.

Free Hosted Blog

If your blog is hosted on free blogging service like blogger or wordpress then you can create as many blog as you want without any cost.So i would suggest you to create a new blog with any name and use the same theme or template on this test blog which you are using on your original blog. Afterwards, whenever you need to try something new or edit something go to the test blog and perform there 1st. If new change goes on perfectly then repeat it on your original blog to avoid any untoward situation on your original blog.

Paid Hosted Blog

If you have purchased the web hosting for your blog then you can create the different test blog in different directory of hosting space. You can perform experiment on that blog.

I know with creating new test blog and first performing any task on that blog and then on original blog would waste some part of your precious time but it can save the hell of your precious time which you may need to spend if anything goes wrong while playing on your original blog.
